This is a place where we can read, reflect and respond to the traditional scriptures of Lent. Lent is the time where we are made low so that we can appreciate the height of the risen Christ.
Does 1 Cor 5:5 seem vaguely gnostic to anyone else?Other questions:- Is the problem not that they let this guy stay in their fellowship, but that his sin went unaddressed?- What is the boasting he talks about in verse 6? Is it boasting about the guy who slept with his stepmother? Is it boasting in general?(and the unfair question)- What "counts" as blaspheme against the Holy Spirit?
I think The Message paraphrase version of the verses in 1 Cor. makes the boasting part a little clearer.
